Inscribed by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Turkey, you just cannot miss out on this cup of delight on your next visit to Istanbul. The flame and heat plays a key factor for the perfect authentic taste at which these Turkish beans are ground. It is a custom in their weddings where  the bride-to-be sometimes uses salt instead of sugar in the coffee (to gauge the groom’s character). If the bridegroom drinks his coffee without any sign of displeasure, the bride-to-be assumes that the groom is good-tempered and patient.

This Coffee with a twist of whiskey is normally a Cocktail. But the Irish still call it Coffee. Consisting of hot coffee, Irish whiskey, brown sugar and topped with thick cream, this will probably the best thing to get high on. Personally I felt an intense wave of coffee-gasm when this was being served to me along with a plate of milk chocolate cheesecake topped with vanilla ice-cream. Totally Lost it.

Best Cafe to try it out : This quaint cafe in Dublin gives you the peaceful vibes as you watch the baristas prepare your coffee. One main specialty over here is the ‘coffee trio’ or filter tasting, where you can try many coffees at once. This basically includes two filter coffees served side-by-side and trying its beans in three ways: as espresso, espresso with milk, and as filter coffee.

While the world is well aware of the turbulent relationship between the Koreans & Americans, its ironical that they share a common interest when it comes to Coffee. Although the Italians claim to have its origin from their side, a whisk of a shot of espresso with hot water or cream is perfectly blended by the South Koreans to make this special.

Best Cafe to try it out : Yeah. That’s Right. You just saw a Camera shaped Coffee Shop. The Dreamy Camera Cafe in Yangpyeong was designed by a couple who had aspirations of becoming a military pilot and photographer. As quoted by the couple themselves “My wife and I wanted to build a place where anyone could share their stories and help out those who are struggling to discover or achieve their dreams. The idea for a camera-themed cafe came later.” Not a bad place for a good atmosphere huh?

Famous worldwide for being soft and rich in aroma, what most of the people don’t know is how the coffee is produced – which remains a local secret. Its production is the only source of income for thousands of Colombian farmers.

Best Cafe to try it out : The founder of Café Pergamino, hails from a family business that exports green coffee to small and medium roasters in the United States, Europe and Asia. The cafe’s coffee is divided into 2 families.  The first is filtered coffees, which are black or red brown. The other family coffee offered is the espresso. Only trained baristas know how to handle it well.

Hanoi – Egg Coffee

The few lucky CoffeeHolics who have tasted it, say that its the perfect mix of the Cadbury Creme Egg with a hint of mocha. But in reality, the Vietnamese have a whole separate formula and measurement to work the magic in your mouth. Enjoyed on a nice cold day at the shores of Halong Bay at Hanoi, Vietnam holds a spot in the world where you can taste this heart-melting cup of what some may call as ‘Liquid Tiramisu’.

Best Cafe to try it out : Located  on a small lane in the city’s old quarter, the Giang Cafe is known to be the mecca for egg coffee. Being in business for around 69 years, it is still a challenge to locate this cafe amid the busy streets but is totally worth your time once you find it. The founders have a strange recipe of a combination of yolk, condensed milk, sugar, butter and laughing cow cheese. Looking to experience the best gastronomy trail across this area?  Best Cafe to try it out : Known for a very ordinary set up and no fancy cups or cutlery around to serve in, the Mami’s Mess at Kumbakonam is known across any temple hopping foreigner or local. Best experienced after a bowl of sambhar vada and podi-dosa.
