Day 3 of the 3-day itinerary to perfect your Amsterdam vacation

In your first two days, you have covered most of Amsterdam’s must-visits – Tulips in full bloom, Van Gogh’s masterpieces, Anne Frank’s diary on Jewish wartime, Red light and it’s secrets, Heineken’s journey, Jordaan and it’s cafes.

Day 3

Your Day 3 will be a visit to the royal, historic, quaint and relaxing sides of Amsterdam. Begin your day making your way to the New Church of Amsterdam.

New Church (Nieuwe Kerk)

Almost every Dutch city has a New Church and Amsterdam is no exception. It is in Nieuwe Kerk church where all Dutch princes and princesses are inaugurated when they ascend the throne. This church in Amsterdam is extra special as it contains the tombs of two famous figures from Dutch history, the legendary poet Joost van den Vondel in whose honor Vondelpark is named and also the tomb of the naval hero Admiral Michiel de Ruyter. From the church, head on to the Royal Palace of Amsterdam.

Royal Palace of Amsterdam

This palace was built as a city hall in the 17th century. It later became the royal palace of King Louis Napoleon and finally the Dutch Royal House. It is one of the three palaces that the State has placed at the King’s disposal by an Act of Parliament. Royal events like the reception of the foreign heads of state during their Netherlands visits or the King’s New Year reception and other official receptions, they all happen in this palace. Visit the palace and get mesmerized by its grandiose.

Madame Tussauds of Amsterdam

At this wax museum, take selfies with your favorite celebrities. A-list Hollywood celebrities starting from George Clooney to Angelina Jolie, popular music artists from Ariana Grande to Taylor Swift and your favorite Marvel superheroes from Hulk to Thor, you will find them all. Click those envious photographs and feed your Instagram page to get those extra likes.

Dam Square

A jam-packed square jostling with locals and tourists merely five-minutes walk down the Damrak from Centraal Station is the Dam Square. It was created in the 13th century when a dam was built around the river Amstel to prevent the Zuiderzee sea from flooding the city. Currently, Dam square is one of the main tourist sights of Amsterdam and it often brings mimers and street performers to come out to surprise unexpected onlookers.

Zandvoort’s Beach

An hour in a train from Amsterdam central station, this beach in Amsterdam attracts visitors from all over the world for long lazy days of sunbathing and seaside fun. Order tasty cocktails or glass of ice tea while enjoying the cool sea breeze and the summer sun and make the most of the quaint and tranquil side this beach has to offer.
