For Oscars may come and go, but these movies we will remember forever. Why, you ask? The gorgeous sets and dreamy locations they were shot in of course. The movie narrates yet another aliens-visit-humanity story, with the motive to help mankind evolve faster. This Oscar 2017 movie’s destinations are parts of Montreal and Quebec in Canada, the movie was a close contender in Production Design in the Oscars 2017.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

A tale of the Harry Potter universe set long before he was born, this movie narrates Newt Scamander’s visit to America and repercussions of his visit. It was a close contender for in Oscar 2017 for Production Design, but bagged one anyway for Costume Design. Set in different locations across England, the magic is REAL in these places.

Hail, Caesar!

Set in the Hollywood of 1950s, this movie narrates a day in the life of a Hollywood “fixer” – cleaning up after and solving problems for the industry biggies. Set in and around Los Angeles, this was another close contender for the Production Design category.

La La Land

And, of course, the movie that stole our hearts and bagged four Oscars. Narrating the story of two struggling artists, this musical is complete cinematic experience. Based in the City of Stars, expels a very retro vibe.

Lion

A biographical film, tells the story of an Indian’s journey to discover his biological family that he accidentally gets lost from and is adopted by an Australian couple. It was a close contender for Production Design, Screenplay, Best Picture & more.

Note: From Kangaroo sighting to the Twelve Apostles, there is no dearth fun, activty and adventure here!

Moonlight

Narrating the story of Chiron – an African American with a dysfunctional family. The story is told over three stages of his life – as a young child, a teen and then as a young man. It bagged Oscar for Best Picture and was nominated for few other categories – it is no surprise, considering the movie destination.
