Starting Tuesday, Etihad Airways will suspend all flights to and from Doha, Qatar. A culmination to the mounting tensions between Qatar and four other Gulf states.
The move came after Qatar was accused of supporting terrorism and consorting with terrorist groups like Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaida and the Islamic State. Early Monday morning Arab Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates announced their decision to cut air and sea traffic to Qatar starting with the Etihad Airways announcement. While Saudi’s national airlines Etihad Airlines announced the suspension of the flights, Qatar Airways is yet to make a move.
