The Kingdom of Westeros from Game of Thrones is in Chicago!

The things I do for love

Only if you have been living under a rock or been in coma or well, dead, you wouldn’t know what Game of Thrones is. The American fantasy drama which aired in 2011 has been the talk of the world since its first season and we can’t wait for April 14, for the final season to release. While we all wait, patiently, actually not so patiently, a Chicago bar has transformed itself into the Kingdom of Westeros.

Stacked with vintage video games and hella lot of craft beer, Replay Lincoln Park is a popular arcade bar in Chicago. And, it has the kind of setup that will make you want to step in every day and not go back to your other ways boring life. So, naturally, Replay has a dedicated number of loyalists. But, then, Replay didn’t stop there. They have now gone a step further in pleasing its patrons by transforming the whole place into the Kingdom of Westeros.

The backdrop complete with props is so perfect that the show’s creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss would be a bit jealous. And, you can see it for yourselves.

Dress up as your favorite character and explore Winterfell, Highgarden, Dothraki Camp, King’s Landing, Meereen, Braavos, and the Wall at the Casterly Rock. For the perfect Instagram feed, click photos by the White Walkers, Wall of faces, and inside the Throne room. No, the throne doesn’t belong to you. But, again, there is no reason not to rejoice. There are also dragons up above you. So, be ready to crouch when they breathe fire or ice. 😉

This is not it, there are themed events throughout the pop-up. There’s the most heartbreaking & tummy-filling ‘Red Wedding’ feast, Game of Thrones trivia Thursdays, and a Jousting competition. Enjoy all this whilst enjoying the signature cocktail of ‘Dothaquiri’ and mead on tap is also in the pipeline. With Replay tieing up with Ommegang brewery – the official Game of Thrones beer curators, you can soon taste exclusive Game of Thrones beers.

This includes a commemorative print, express entry to the bar, and a keepsake goblet that holds of a glass of Ommegang’s King in the North or Queen of the seven kingdoms. The VIP ticket is priced at $20.

The concept, art, and the decor were all designed by Pop Up Squad who are also ardent followers of the show and this particular pop-up at Replay will run till 3rd March 2019.
