What to shop in Thailand?

From home décor items, jewellery, clothing and souvenirs to authentic Thai spices and Thai silk, the country never ceases to amaze its visitors with its huge options to shop. Thailand is known for its Bencharong Porcelain and Sangkhalok stoneware which are carved intricately to make showpieces, crockery and other home décor items. Wickerwork items like baskets and furniture made from locally produced bamboo plants are also popular in Thailand.

Thailand is also famous for selling “dupes” or “first-copies” of well-known branded items. If you do not want to spend a fortune on buying expensive branded products, you can try purchasing their first-copy items from here which are exact replicas of the original products.

How to shop in Thailand?

Although shopping is cheap in Thailand, you must ensure that you are paying the right price for a product. Ensure that you go to a standard shop if you want to buy original branded products because these shops sell products at fixed and original prices. Always ask for receipts before paying the bill so that you can come back in case of any discrepancy.

Small shops and flea-market stalls do not provide receipts for the products sold and do not take any responsibility for the quality of the products either. Usually, these shops tend to charge double the original price of the product and can easily fool you by selling copies of branded products at the price of the original!

Wear light cotton clothes to shop comfortably during the daytime. Apply sunscreen and wear a sunglass and a hat to stay safe from the heat. As shopping will involve a lot of walking here and there, try wearing comfortable slippers or a pair of good sneakers.
